Description
Transnational Access (TNA) to Research Infrastructures (RI) is the core activity of Horizon Europe (HE) SERV projects, and a large fraction of EU funding under the HE Research Infrastructures Programme is expected to support the latter. With 23 SERV projects now underway, it was time to gather SERV project coordinators, TNA programme managers, and relevant stakeholders such as ESFRI representatives and RI National Contact Points (NCP), for a one-day workshop, to share their experience, discuss any issues encountered and exchange wider views on TNA delivery under HE SERV projects. Prior to the workshop, REA conducted a survey amongst all 23 SERV projects, asking for feedback on key aspects of TNA to be addressed. A presentation of the survey results opened the workshop. To illustrate divergent modes of TNA implementation, coordinators from selected SERV projects presented their projects focussing on key features of TNA, such as the percentage of the total budget spent on TNA, reimbursement models, transnational vs virtual access, consortium architecture for TNA delivery, thematic fields, and challenge-driven vs curiosity driven SERV.
