The European Mission Soil Week (EMSW) 2024 returns, building on its vital role in promoting research, innovation and engagement on soil protection and restoration.

The call is a significant step towards the HuMUS project’s aim to support the EU Mission ‘A Soil Deal for Europe’ (Mission Soil) in promoting participatory processes at the local and regional level that will result in Territorial Management Agreements.

Today, the European Commission and the European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) held the launch event of the Mission Soil Manifesto.

This investment is expected to result in, for example, better preparing local and regional authorities to face climate-related risks, optimising minimally-invasive diagnostic cancer interventions, restoring at least 25 000 km of free-flowing rivers, and rolling out soil monitoring programmes.
