As the magic of Christmas fills the air, it sparks a feeling of wonder and imagination, especially for children. But have you ever wondered what these young minds wish scientists could discover?

We certainly have - and that is why we asked children what they wish EU scientists will discover in 2025. From mind-blowing technologies to cures for illnesses and discoveries for the different space dimensions - the wish list of the EU’s youngest citizens is creative, and inspiring!

So, let’s unwrap the extraordinary visions these young dreamers have for the future, and perhaps (with a little luck), find the inspiration to make some of those dreams a reality.

“"I want you to save the gorillas in the world” - Raymonde, 3 years old.

“They should invent a machine to catch evil people” - Sveva, 5 years old.

“Lasers to protect our homes from criminals” - Gabriel, 7 years old.

“A unicorn” - Ines, 5 years old.

"I wish that scientists would invent new materials with which you can easily build a small apartment (like with Lego), so volunteers could build one for people sleeping on the streets to keep them warm. They don’t have to pay to stay inside, but they do have to help build the next one when it’s needed” - Sophia, 9 years old.

“More discoveries about the different space dimensions” - Lynn, 11 years old.

“Something that can take us anywhere we want very, very fast! Boom and we arrive” - Anastasia, 5 years old.

“A device to collect grass” - Alexis, 3 years old.

“I would wish that EU researchers invent a teleport, so that we can all reach our loved ones in our home countries quicker” - Martin, 15 years old.
