In response to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND 2021 call, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) received 116 proposals by the deadline of 10 February 2022. 53 proposals were submitted for Doctoral Programmes, and 63 for Postdoctoral Programmes. Applicants from 24 countries have applied for funding under the HORIZON-MSCA-2021-COFUND-01 call for proposals.

There is a total available budget of €89 million to fund research and innovation projects for MSCA COFUND which aims to spread the best practices of the MSCA including international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary research training, as well as international and cross-sectoral mobility of researchers at all stages of their career.

Projects will be selected for funding with the support of external independent expert evaluators drawn from the European Commission's experts' database. Evaluations are expected to start in March, and the selection results will be announced in July 2022. REA will sign grant agreements with the successful applicants in October 2022.
