69 promising Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) research projects as well as 17 projects from other relevant EU funding programmes (Erasmus+, EIT and Creative Europe) presented the results of their work in the field of the European Green Deal across six scientific panels: biodiversity; sustainable agriculture; clean energy; eliminating pollution; climate action; green transport.

Description
Climate change and environmental degradation are an existential threat to Europe and the world. To overcome these challenges, the European Green Deal will transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy ensuring:
- No net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050
- Economic growth decoupled from resource use
- No person and no place left behind
The European Green Deal is also our lifeline out of the COVID-19 pandemic. One third of the 1.8 trillion Euro investments from the NextGenerationEU recovery plan, and the EU’s seven year budget will finance the European Green Deal.
The MSCA European Green Deal Cluster event’s main objectives were to:
- showcase the excellence of MSCA-funded researchers and their contribution to climate research and innovation;
- promote discussions and collect information to provide input to the relevant EU policy-making services;
- enhance synergies and stimulate networking among MSCA researchers, as well as projects funded under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), Erasmus+ and Creative Europe.
