Six online courses to boost your skills and knowledge

Looking to learn new skills and expand your knowledge? Check out our list of online courses developed by EU-funded research projects that will make you stand out.

All these courses can be followed online, are in English, and are completely free!

  • Become an expert communicator with the TRESCA project’s Online Course on Science Communication. This course is designed to help you communicate about science in an era of disinformation and questioning of scientific principles.
  • Only 2% of post-consumer textiles are diverted to fibre-to-fibre recycling in Europe. The textile industry is in desperate need of scalable solutions to become circular. Be ahead of the curve with New Cotton’s Circular Textiles platform; you’ll learn about the influence and impact of the textile industry’s role in moving towards the circular economy!
  • If you’re a researcher, then these Courses on Transferable Skills are for you. Offered by the DocEnhance project, you’ll learn invaluable transferable skills for a career within academia or outside of it. Chose a course and learn how to better manage research data, improve PhD supervision, and manage your career with entrepreneurial skillsets.
  • Migration is often discussed in relation to urban areas. However, migration also impacts rural areas and in fact, can re-vitalise them as well as contribute to reducing territorial inequalities.  Dive into this topic with the Impact of International Migration on Remote Places by the MATILDE project.
  • Jumpstart your experience in standardisation with the HSbooster. We need a skilled workforce to improve standards and standardisation in research for the better uptake of results. Join the HSbooster Training Academy and chose from beginner, intermediate, and expert level courses – start your journey today!
  • Interested in the intersection between religion and radicalisation? Then explore the GREASE project’s Massive Open Online Courses; the Religion, Radicalisation, Resilience course is currently open. In this course, not only will you learn about the basics of radicalisation, but it will also provide training in order to develop a community programme for preventing radicalisation and terrorism.

The OTTER project will soon launch additional resources for teachers to implement Education Outside the Classroom practises. Join the OTTER Hub for peer-to-peer learning or check out what resources are already available.

The Soil Academy, launched by the NBSoil project, will offer a two-year course for the next generation of soil experts and advisors.

2023 is the European Year of Skills; a push by the EU to make sure people’s skills match the needs of the labour market. Read the ways REA supports the Year of Skills through the management of projects that work on skills development, the funding of young researcher’s careers and the assistance given to them to re-skill, and the highlighting of how projects can support you to upskill.
