The European Commission co-funds campaigns to promote EU-grown farm products in the single market as well as in third countries, in line with the EU promotion policy. To evaluate campaign proposals competing for EU funding in 2026, REA needs the knowledge and experience of professionals in this field.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for experts from private and public organisations, including universities and other educational institutions, that are:

  • Knowledgeable in agri-food promotion
  • Knowledgeable in marketing and consumer behaviour, and/or
  • Knowledgeable in EU-quality schemes, organic products, and/or
  • Familiar with sustainable agri-food production and consumption, and/or
  • Knowledgeable in EU and/or third country agri-food markets.

What will you do?

Selected experts will evaluate proposals submitted under the 2026 Promotion of agricultural products call for proposals. As a proposal evaluator, you will be part of a panel that assesses funding proposals based on defined selection criteria. The panel’s assessment will be the basis for the European Commission's funding decision.

In most cases, you will carry out your work online. However, you may also be invited to attend an on-site evaluation in Brussels. In this case, you may be eligible for accommodation and subsistence allowances, as well as the reimbursement of your travel costs.

For more information, please see our “Work as an expert” page and the model contract for experts.

How to register?

If you are interested, please register in the European Commission’s experts’ database. To improve the findability of your profile, please include relevant keywords mentioned above (for example, agri-food promotion, marketing, consumer behaviour) when describing your expertise.

For further advice on registering your profile, please consult the FAQs for experts and the IT manual.

What’s next?

If selected, we will contact you in March - April 2026 to propose a task assignment and check your availability. The evaluation panels are planned for May - July 2026.
