Following the 2022 AGRIP call for proposals for multi programmes, which closed on 21 April, the European Commission has adopted a decision on the programmes that will be funded. Project applications were assessed with the support of independent external expert evaluators, drawn from the European Commission’s database of experts.

The EU’s co-financing will amount to EUR 67.8 million for 28 proposals, which made it to the main list. Successful applicants come from 16 Member States. Most of the accepted programmes focus on the internal market (61%). However, in terms of the budget, almost half is dedicated to third countries (48%). These include the UAE, US, UK, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and India, among others.

The programmes aim to enhance the competitiveness of the EU’s agricultural sector, while seeking to open new market opportunities and strengthen existing businesses.

REA informed applicants of the outcome in September. Grant agreements with the successful applicants are currently under preparation and the programme implementation is expected to start as of 1 January 2023. The programmes’ duration is in general three years.

The selected campaigns are in line with the key policy priorities of the European Commission. These include boosting the competitiveness of the EU agri-food sector whilst contributing to the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork strategy and Europe’s beating cancer plan. In addition, the campaigns selected will also contribute to the objectives of the  EU organic action plan and the Communication on the European citizens' initiative ‘End the cage age’. Campaigns will highlight the high safety standards of EU agri-food products, as well as the diverse and traditional range of products supported by EU quality schemes.
