Teaming

Teaming is an EU flagship scheme of the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation Programme.

The Teaming action supports the creation of new Centres of Excellence or the upgrade of existing ones in low Research & Innovation performing Member States and Associated Countries, the ‘Widening countries’, on the basis of strategic partnerships with internationally leading institutions, ‘Advanced partners’.

To amplify their territorial impact, Centres of Excellence across Europe must secure complementary funding from the structural funds or other sources. Once established, the Centres of Excellence will function as lighthouses with far reaching impact and role models for attracting the best talents. Furthermore, they will demonstrate the success of modern governance and management, and stimulate reforms in the national R&I environment of the Widening countries.
