During the informational day on 30 June potential applicants had the opportunity to learn more about the rules for participation and ask questions directly.
Cluster 3 focuses on security issues and aims to deliver on the following six destinations:
- Better protect the EU and its citizens against Crime and Terrorism,
- Effective management of EU external borders,
- Resilient Infrastructure,
- Increased Cybersecurity
- Disaster-Resilient Society for Europe,
- Strengthened Security Research and Innovation.
All the destinations are managed by REA, except for Increased Cybersecurity managed by the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology.

Research institutions, universities, industries, SMEs, civil society organizations and other security stakeholders were also invited to the Brokerage event on 1 July. At the matchmaking event, participants shared their project ideas, trying to find possible collaborators to setup Horizon Europe project consortia.

2021 Horizon Europe Cluster 3’s calls are open for application. The Info Days are an important opportunity for potential applicants to get ready to apply for EU funding.
The Info Days are co-organised by the European Commission’s Directorates General ‘Research and Innovation’ and ‘Migration and Home Affairs’, the European Research Executive Agency and the Network of Security National Contact Points SEREN4.
