Description

REA invites you to the following sessions and stands to discover how EU-funded R&I projects support Europe’s regions and cities.
From insight to impact: leveraging data-driven approaches for smarter regional policy
14 October 2025, 09:30-11:00 CET(session)
This session will explore how diverse data-driven approaches can support regional resilience and development in the face of skill shortages, mobility challenges, and brain drain (e.g. people leaving their home regions, often in search of better job opportunities and living conditions elsewhere). The MOBI-TWIN, RE-PLACE, PREMIUM_EU and SkillsPULSE projects will provide different methodologies and tools to better inform policymakers on the matter.
Visualising Communities’ Stakes in the Just Transition: Policy, Plausible, and Preferred Futures
14 October 2025, 09:30 – 15 October 2025, 18:00 CET(stand)
The DUST project will share ways to better engage communities in policymaking for place-based sustainability transitions. Their stand will showcase how communities envision their region’s likely and desired futures and how these compare to their policy futures. These predictions will be enhanced with videos, audio materials, and literature for diverse audiences.
Accelerating circular action in cities and regions: CCRI support services
14 October 2025, 09:30 – 15 October 2025, 18:00 CET (stand)
This stand will focus on the support available to regions and cities to scale up their circular transition. It will showcase the services of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) and partners, offering access to expert knowledge, funding opportunities and hands-on tools. The CCRI CSA and CCRI Knowledge Hub projects will be present to answer your questions.
Rural proofing: Making policies work for rural areas through data/Earth observation
14 October 2025, 16:00-17:30 CET(session)
This session will focus on how rural proofing (e.g. reviewing policies through a rural lens to make them fit for purpose for those who live and work in rural areas) can be effectively integrated into policymaking and decision-making. The EU-backed GRANULAR and RUSTIK will participate in the discussions on the topic, in line with the Commission’s Vision on Agriculture and Food.
Co-Creating Resilient Cities: Citizens, Data and Participatory Action
14 October 2025, 15:30-16:30 CET(session)
How can collaboration with citizens help build more resilient communities and tackle the climate crisis? CitiObs will participate in the workshop to showcase how citizen-generated data can complement policies on air pollution, climate change, and disaster preparedness.
Digital Lifelines for Left-Behind Regions: reviving rural potential through smart tools
15 October 2025, 09:30-11:00 CET(session)
How can rural areas respond to population decline, shrinking services, and lost economic opportunities? This session features insights from PREMIUM_EU and SMART ERA that offer practical solutions to these challenges. It will also feature panels and demos on digital tools that support evidence-based strategies, funding, and rural resilience - covering mobility mapping, policy design, and more.
