Europe Open Doors 2022 – Meet REA projects and researchers!

During this year's Open Doors' Day in Brussels visit the EU Green Village and meet EU-funded research projects URBiNAT and Co-tRiP. In the Youth Village, participants will be able to do experiments guided by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions' fellow Marion Roullet.

Sustainable living."Mon quartier à moi, c’est ça!" / “This is my neighbourhood!”

URBiNAT invites residents of neighborhoods targeted by public policies of urban regeneration to co-create public spaces inspired by nature that connect them with the rest of the city through healthy corridors.

At the Open Doors Day 2022, the project intends to challenge participants to:

Mapping: based on subjective geography, cultural mapping and motivational interviewing, URBiNAT will demonstrate to or draw with participants a map of an area to identify specific zones (which they like best, that they like least, where they identify problems or value) with the help of stickers.

Dreaming: by asking participants to write or draw the neighbourhood of their dreams.

Gaming: by developing a performance to introduce to participants the concepts around nature-based solutions through the use of pictures.

Participants will be able to watch videos showing the work done by the project, and to learn why nature-based solutions are key for sustainable human and natural environment.

Dolphinfish living in a warming ocean: How global climate change is reshaping the distribution, physiology and behaviour of marine migratory species and their associated fisheries, by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions' fellows Andres Ospina Alvarez and Vicenç Moltó Seguí

They will provide an interactive webapp with the results of the project: the public will be able to see how climate change will affect dolphinfish populations in the North-Western Mediterranean.

Youth Village

Food science and eco materials workshop by scientist and Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowMarion Roullet

Visitors will be able to make small objects using spent coffee grounds and seaweed powder. MSCA fellow Marion Roullet will also answer questions from the audience about her work as scientist.
