Description
For Europe to become a climate-neutral continent, we need low-emission solutions for the steel industry. This requires the alignment of steelmakers, steel value chains, policymakers and investors towards finding effective solutions for decarbonising the steel industry.
The ‘Green Steel for Europe’ project – funded under the EU’s Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) – assessed promising technologies, investment needs and funding opportunities. Its findings, policy options and the way forward were discussed at the conference “Climate-neutral steelmaking in Europe – technology, financing and policy conditions”.
The event was organised by the think tank Centre for European Policy Studies, which coordinated the ‘Green Steel for Europe’ project.
